If you are into cocktails, you better pay attention to this one: From July 2nd on until August 30th 2010 there will be an exhibition and a major hommage to the art of cocktails in the Musée du cognac. Two centuries full of cocktail experiences are presented in the museum of Cognac, from tools, rare shakers, old and contemporary. Float ? Frappé ? Frozen ? On the rocks ? Straight up ?
You find out yourself, because it seems to be THE cocktail exhibition.

The exhibition shows the development of cocktails, from the beginning of the 19th century until today. Hmm.. interesting. Where are we going with this cocktail hype? If now even museums start to get into it – there is a major shift towards mixdrinks in the world of Cognac.

The shown pieces come from a private collection of Mauro Mahjoub, the chief barman of Mauro’s Negroni’s Club in Munich and of Fernando Castellon, the author of Larousse des Cocktails. You also find old cocktail books and a lot of other stuff. So if you are into cocktails, you better quickly get to Cognac.

The town of Cognac likes to see itself as the thin tank of cocktails – with its International Cognac Summit (see at page bottom for the article).
And it is for free! Open all days but tuesday, from 10am to 4.30pm.
