The latest figures released by the BNIC show that the increases in cognac production and exports continue to rise.

Globally, sales last month were up 4.6 per cent to 165.3 million bottles (462,855 hectolitres AP).

Sales by Geographical Region

  • NAFTA – 50.6 million bottles (141,563 hl AP).  Sales remain constant here, with no rise or fall in exports
  • Europe – 46.5 million bottles (130,083 hl AP) – down 2. 8 per cent
  • Far East – 60.9 million bottles (170,588 hl AP) – up 14.8 per cent
  • Other countries – 7.3 million bottles (20,621 hl AP) – up 15 per cent

Sales by Quality

  • VS – 72.1 million bottles (201,910 hl AP) – up 1.9 per cent
  • VSOP – 69 million bottles (193,178 hl AP) – up 5.8 per cent
  • XO and above – 24.2 million bottles (67,767 hl AP) – up 9.5 per cent
