Here comes something really special: One of our readers has this wonderful Camus gift set from 1969 to offer. It is located in Canada.
The Reader writes “Discovered today in my father’s study storeroom. Apparently it is a gift from a grateful patient decades ago. My dad, now 90, was a practicing M.D .and was/is given to saving special things for special occasions and then forgetting all about them. His eyes lit up when we found several examples of his amazing patience and prudence in conserving ceremonial items for just the right occasion. There are a couple of half-finished bottles of scotch and whiskey carefully stored away going back to the 60\’s. No further events seemed to warrant the cracking of the bottles again…”
(If you also have a Cognac bottle you would like to sell, or you need information about age or value – send us photos and information, just submit: Use this form – but please be aware: if you don’t follow the steps precisely, we will not publish your bottle.)
The label reads: Please see pictures to see exactly. But generally it says Camus Napoleon Cognac and Camus Grande Marque Cognac on the spine and BI-CENTENAIRE DE L’EMPEREUR NAPOLEON 1er 1769 1969 on the back. See photograph of bottom for wording and serial number 0095 of 500.
I think this might be the Green #4 bottle in 22K gold embellishment. It is unopened and the box and entire presentation is in mint condition
Tax labels, revenue, signs or similar: Note that the “level of cognac in the bottle” answer below is arbitrary as we are unable to see it but as the bottle is unopened we assume that it is still as full as when it left the distillery.
How has the bottle been stored:
- In a dry place
- At room temperature
- Up-right standing
Some more information about the bottle:
- Everythings seems fine
The level of the cognac: High shoulder or top shoulder: the level of cognac has reached the upper curve of the shoulder
