Camus Cognac, the fifth largest Cognac producer and the largest independently owned producer of Cognac in the world, has unveiled its newest product to commemorate the house’s 150-year anniversary.

Not content with the usual razzmatazz surrounding a new product, Camus are taking their latest offering on a world tour. This commenced with the President of the Cognac house, Cyril Camus, making the first stop in the USA. Here he hosted a private dinner for 30 guests at the SCM Culinary Suite in SoHo, New York. The restaurant is run by celebrity chef, Scott Conant, and the man himself prepared a sumptuous meal that, naturally, had a strong Camus Cognac theme running from the first aperitif right through to after dinner coffee.
The evening commenced with the Camus Cognac 150 Year Special Cocktail, a simple yet delicious cocktail created especially for the Camus Anniversary celebrations.
Recipe for Camus Cognac 150 Year Special Cocktail
1 oz. Camus VSOP Elegance
1/3 oz. cane sugar syrup
Three drops of Violet Liqueur
3 oz. Champagne Brut
1 Maraschino Cherry
Other wine and Camus Cognac pairings were tasted throughout the evening, and guests were also able to taste Camus Coffee, a product that’s marketed in China. And at the end of the evening, they were treated to a taste of the brand new Camus Cuvee 5.150 Cognac.
This cognac has been designed as a celebration of the dedication of the five generations of hard work that’s gone into bringing Camus to where it is today. And so the number ‘5’ features strongly in the creation of the Cognac. Five rare eaux-de-vie from five different Cognac growing regions have been blended to produce this spicy, fragrant mix.
It’s a mix of Grande Champagne, Petite Champagne, Fin Bois, Bon Bois and Borderies Cognacs, presented in a delightfully irregular Baccarat Crystal decanter.

The Camus Cuvee 5.150 Anniversary Cognac has been produced in a limited edition of 1,492 decanters, each individually numbered and being sold at a price of $13,500 US. In addition to this, the first 150 will also include a 100ml numbered sample. This miniature is a rare opportunity to own the very last sample taken by the cellar master just before the decanters were filled. These are usually kept for the Camus Family Cognac Library, so will be a prized possession indeed for the their lucky owners.
The Camus 150 year anniversary celebrations will now move onto other destinations around the world.

Gift bottle 100ml for 150 bottle sample , not bottle 5cl sample box with the previous version as a gift for one particular individual?
Vietnamese representative office Camus said Cyril Camus will come to Vietnam in October 04-2013 to introduce this product.
have been searching for Extraordinaire de Camus for over a year & unable to locate. My son was in Paris 2 months ago and could not locate it either. I understand it is no longer made. Elegance & Borderies are not my taste, both having a slightly sharp finish, and I was wondering if Monsieur Jean de Tudent might advise a similar cognac to Extraordinaire in body, palate, nose and finish ? I live in Sydney Australia and the only Extraordinaire I ever had still haunts me and I have not been able to replicate it since. Such a beautiful satisfying and comforting cognac that subtly overwhelms the body.
Great cognac.. I am Camus promotions sales person in NEW YORK USA. I personally love this product especially the island Cognac, very smooth. Bravo. Looking forward to taste 5.150. Heard so much about it..
