BREAKING NEWS: How great! Bapiste is going to be the new cellar master of Remy Martin – of course this doesn’t come unexpected. We know both Pierrette (the first female Cellar Master of a major cognac house) and Baptiste – they are lovely people and of course very knowledgeable.
Dominique Hériard Dubreuil, chairwoman of the House of Rémy Martin and Patrick Piana (he’s the CEO) just announced the appointment of Baptiste Loiseau as Cellar Master at the House of Rémy Martin. Baptiste will succeed renowned Cellar Master Pierrette Trichet in spring 2014.
Baptiste joined the House in 2007 and will only be the 5th Cellar Master in the history of the House of Rémy Martin.
Now that’s news! In the spring of 2014, the House of Rémy Martin will organise an induction ceremony to pay tribute to Pierrette Trichet and officially welcome Baptiste Loiseau to his new duties.
Pierrette Trichet will have left an indelible mark on the Cognac House of Rémy Martin. She joined the study and research laboratory in 1976 and went on to become the first female Cellar Master of a major cognac house in 2003. Recognized for her exceptional nose for selecting eaux-de-vie and for her daring creativity, she is also a grand lady in terms of her discretion, her candour and her generosity.
After 38 years at the House, Pierrette Trichet has decided to pass the baton to Baptiste Loiseau, to whom she has carefully transmitted her expertise.
After 38 years Pierrette hands over to Baptiste
Born in Cognac, Baptiste Loiseau, an agricultural engineer and oenologist, joined the House in 2007. He is a passionate, committed person whose curiosity is insatiable, driven by an unquenchable thirst for learning. Pierrette Trichet immediately saw the qualities of a future Cellar Master in him. He is close to the wine-growing world and has excellent expertise in tasting Grande Champagne and Petite Champagne cognacs and eaux-de-vie. Now he will be the guarantor of style at the House of Rémy Martin.
The House of Rémy Martin is on a constant quest for perfection and the Cellar Master is the mastermind behind this. It is in this spirit that Baptiste Loiseau is joining the extraordinary tradition of Cellar Masters initiated by Rémy Martin in 1724 and carried on by his successors. He will join the foursome that has ensured the House’s grandeur for the last century: André Renaud, André Giraud, Georges Clot and Pierrette Trichet.
