The latest figures show that there’s a massive global market for all kinds of Brandy. The following list shows the top 10 best brandy brands sold around the world in 2017, the year that saw records broken in both value and volume when it comes to Cognac. The same time span saw sales of total brandy sales also grow, and the trend was expected to continue in 2018. When the figures are in, we’ll be sure to update. 

1. Emperador Brandy, the World’s Number 1 Best Selling Brandy

Owned by Brand Alliance, Emperador Brandy from the Philippines actually saw its sales drop by 3.2%. However, it still remains the most sold Brandy in the world. 

2. Hennessy Cognac

3. Dreher Brandy

This is Brazil’s best-selling brandy, and saw its sales grow by 1.5%. It was purchased by Gruppo Campari in 2001, and is a grape brandy that’s distilled and produced with cane sugar and natural vegetable extracts.

4. Old Admiral Brandy

The Indian made, Old Admiral Brandy, was the global best-seller the previous year. However, sales fell a massive 12.1%, meaning it could only hold onto the number 4 position this last year. Owned by the brand, Radico Khaitan, it’s still a popular choice around the world.

5. Martell Cognac

6. Rémy Martin Cognac

7. Paul Masson Grande Amber Brandy

Owned by Constellation Brands, Paul Masson Grande Amber brandy saw sales rise by 1.5%, and was given the esteemed title of brandy Brand Champion 2018. Not only do they produce regular brandy, but the brand is known for its flavoured varieties, such as mango.

8. McDowell’s No 1 Brandy

Disappointing sales saw a drop of 22.7%, and a fall from number 4 in the top 10 list. Owned by Indian drinks group, United Spirits (and controlled by Diageo), this Indian brandy still remains a firm favorite in India and surrounding countries.

9. Torres Brandy

This top selling Spanish Brandy saw its sales rise by 1.6% last year. It’s made from grapes from the Catalan region, Torres is undoubtedly Spain’s favorite brandy.

10. Old Kenigsberg Brandy

Owned by Alliance 1892, Old Kenigsberg Brandy is popular in countries such as Russia, and one of the best brandy brands in the world.
