  1. Your Louis XIII is from 1959-1961 right between the last Green Velvet Box 1958 and the first cream-colored cardboard box 1962. The old Centaur Logo on the box lid is pre-1963 which confirms the date.
I own one of these and mine is numbered (hand engraved under the decanter and stopper) so yours should be too. 600-700 range is my guess. Could you confirm.
Based on excellent condition I would estimate your set to be worth $2,500. I bought mine for $2,400 last year.

  2. PS. Store bottle upright, not laying down. Strong alcohol will dissolve the cork over time contrary to wine. Cognac cannot “go bad” like wine so not the same issues with cork drying out.

  3. I will offer $2,400 for your Louis XIII if you want to sell it.

We just bought a newer bottle, full and sealed in the box with the stopper and booklet and bottle numbers all matching, for $1000 plus 18% Buyer’s Premium. Not a bad deal, compared to the offers stated here!
