Very nice Louis XIII – The engraving under the bottle (Baccarat name but no Logo) places it in the 1946-1950 time frame. Before 1946 the Baccarat decanters did not have the engraved Baccarat name either and were only identified by a round paper label with the Baccarat Logo (Used since the mid 1800s on Baccarat crystal ware).
The square label with the name “Very Old, Age Unknown” tells us it is not a US import bottle but one made for the European or Canadian market most likely exported to an English speaking country (UK/Canada?)
US imports were renamed and labelled “Louis XIII Brand” from the late 1930s onward.
This bottle is worth about $1,800-$2,000 without the original case. With the case it would be worth about $500 more. Do you have the case for it?
