Cognac Expert reported about Rémy Martin’s new spokesman, and our readers were very critical with the cognac house’s move to pick US rapper T.I. – this story ends before it got started.

TI rapper

While T.I.’s partnership with AXE Body spray was already terminated, and T.I. was arrested for drug possession, now Rémy Martin terminates its partnership with the hiphop artist, too. The rapper, who was coming straight from prison, was named Remy Martin’s Global Creative Consultant in June 2010, now this statement from Rémy Martin:

Sometimes the ‘road to redemption’ is a difficult path. Regrettably, we will not be able to continue collaborating with T.I. at this time. We wish T.I. well and hope he will devote his time and energy to staying the course.

What’s more: T.I. is going back to prison, serving some 11 months more in sing-sing. He is expected to turn himself in next Monday.

The split is not yet officially confirmed by headquarters in the US.
We’ve seen it coming, it wasn’t a very good idea in the first place.
