Here comes a lovely grandfathers gift. One of our readers has this Prunier Vieille Reserve Cognac to offer. It is located in Houston, Texas, USA.
This is what our reader writes “As my grandmother recently downsized from the home she shared with my late grandfather, she gave many of my grandfather’s things to family members. Among these things were several old bottles of cognac that were to be divided between my sister and I. I actually had to play “rock, paper scissors” for the first pick, ending up with this bottle of Cognac Prunier.
My Grandfather was a cruise ship captain and traveled all over the world. I’m not exactly sure where the bottled was purchased or when it came into his possession, but I imagine he purchased it on one of his trips.”

Can you add a picture clearly showing the level, I am interested in the bottle. Thanks!
I have a Prunier’s Cuvee Royale Grande Fine Cognac X.O. in a very dark, squarish bottle and I’m unsure as to it’s value, or anything else really, as I cannot find any details about it on the internet. The outer box is gold with a pattern of Fleur de Elise on it, and a plain cardboard inner box which holds the bottle itself. On the packaging and on the bottle is a short description which states:
“Monseur Jean Prunier the founder of Maison Prunier S.A. and a recognised tasting expert had elaborated his personal blend for private use. His descendants give you now the opportunity to appreciate fine cognac brandies blended according to family expertise”
I was hoping a “cognac expert” could assist me with finding out what it is I have exactly.
I hope to hear back soon. Thank you.
