… and another both beautiful and well-preserved Martell item: this is a Martell Cordon Bleu Cognac that a reader from Texas sent us.

Our Reader writes “My husband found a couple more bottles in his late-fathers stash. This is another one of the treasures that was never opened. We are unsure of the story behind the bottle or when it was obtained but would like to get some background on the bottle and possibly find it a loving home! “

(If you also have a Cognac bottle you would like to sell, or you need information about age or value – send us photos and information, just submit: Use this form – but please be aware: if you don’t follow the steps precisely, we will not publish your bottle.)

This is a late 1968-1969 Cordon Bleu. Jos Garneau started importing Martell in 1968 (Browne Vintners was the importer before them). In the early 1970s Martell switched the CB to a green frosted bottle with a gold seal.
A very nicely preserved bottle of great Cognac with original box.
Value about $500 which is what I will offer you if you want to sell it.

Hi Becca – Yes $500 is my high bid on this bottle, I personally think Andrey is overpaying but he collects Martell so he knows what it is worth to him…

I have the same bottle as this. unopened and in excellent condition. I found it whilst clearing out a friends flat. We also would like to sell. I live in the uk.
    Offers?
    Thanks Maxine

    Hi Maxine,
I can offer US$500, same as I offered Becca, if the bottle is in the same condition.
The seal must be intact, the labels in good condition and the level must be as high (> 1cm above the top of the wax medallion)
The box must be in similar condition.
If you do not have the box I can offer US$475.
I have a proxy in France so if you can ship inside EEC that would be fine. Shipping to the US is pretty much impossible.
My offer in contingent on seeing some photos of the bottle.
