Sake – what does it bring to mind for you?  Fierce Samurai warriors downing a shot before battle?  Beautiful Geisha girls bowing respectfully as they serve their menfolk?

How about an award winning beverage imported to the U.S. along with the new Jacques Cardin VSOP cognac, or Cognac JC.

Gekkeikan Sake

We’ll bet it wasn’t the last one…

Sidney Frank Importing Co. Inc. – a leader in the very best spirits from around the world, have announced that Gekkeikan sake has once again won the gold medal at the 2011 National New Sake Award Competition held in Japan.  This sake has won the gold medal now in 29 of the last 30 competitions – a pretty impressive track record.

“It’s like mixing Apple Cognac with Jasmine Cognac”

Sidney Frank Importing Co. Inc. is based in New York and is both owners and/or importers of many of the world’s premium brands.

JC Cognac range

Jacques Cardin cognac – more informally known as JC cognac is well known for its unique flavour and offers three different brands;  JC VSOP, JC Apple and JC Jasmine.  The unique (and secret) recipe is added by the Cellar Master after the eaux-de-vie has aged for a minimum of four years.  The apple and jasmine options offer a distinct exotic flavour which lingers long after your glass is empty.

The bottle itself is pure simplicity – with crisp angular lines and a silver top.  Each variety is available in a variety of sizes – 50ml, 200ml, 375ml, and 750ml.

I felll in live with the apple flavor in 2005 and had been drinking it ever since until I no longer could find it . I even bought the last case from my favorite liquor store. I would love to know where I can order some from.
