    Dear Cognac Experts.

I have two questions you might help me with:

I have an undated, unopened, intact bottle of Vieille Grande Champagne T. Hine, but it does not mention the year (it looks exactly like the Italian one on your image). There are some clues you may be able to help with:

    – the banderole says “Supreme”
    – it is bottle no. 35 out of 120
    – it has the label: “By appointment to her majesty Queen Elizabeth II etc.”
    – an additional label specifying “Sioners’ O St. Thomas (Charlotte Amalie) as sole importers to the Virgin Islands. What could be the vintage?

I have another bottle J.G. Monnet Cognac over 60 years old also without year. What could the year be? And any idea what it’s worth right now?

    Best regards,

The bottle in the photo is a mid-1950s Hine Antique. The level is low so the bottle is not worth much. Your bottle is definitely post 1952 (Queen Elizabeth became queen that year) so I’d say mid-50s to 1960.
This bottle with a good level would be worth $150-$175.

I have a bottle of Hine Cognac Champagne 1960 I would like to sell. Do you have any suggestions as to how I might go about that here in the USA?

Christies in London has accepted it for auction, but I would like to take less steps in the possible exchange with a buyer.

Your suggestions or comments are appreciated.

    Thank you,
