Probably a very good cognac but the non-commercial bottling, corny hand-made label and rudimentary cork seal makes origin and content unverifiable.
Taylor & Lake is an unknown entity… maybe just the two jokers who bottled this in their kitchen? Couldn’t find any trace of such Company. Why does this cognac have 3 dates: 1948, 1958, 1983… If it is vintage 1948 and was bottled in 1983 what happened to it in 1958? It was “landed” whatever that means (Imported?).
Maybe it was bottled in 1958 and re-bottled into this custom bottle in 1983?

It could be a one-of-a-kind bottle. Maybe It is Hine cognac in it and maybe not, who knows?

It would be near impossible to sell this to a collector.

My advice is to drink it and enjoy it. But take a small sip first to verify it is actually cognac…

I received confirmation directly from Hine confirming the authenticity of the bottle. Here is the excerpt from their reply:

Bernard Hine has now come back to me with a little more information. The label was produced by a gentleman called Mark Lake and was bottled by London Bridge Bottlers. We can confirm that the bottle is genuine. We understand the company Taylor & Lake closed quite some years ago now.
