This new vintage blend holds true to the tradition of the original ‘antique’ cognac from Hine that was created by George Hine back in the year 1920. George was the grandfather of Hine’s current Honorary Chairman, Bernard Hine.
Back then, drinking the older cognacs was not considered to be in fashion, and George was certainly bucking the trend by producing a blend of aged cognacs. The word ‘antique’ was his nickname for the many casks of vintage cognacs that held the pride of place in Hine’s cellars.
The Hine Antique XO Premier Cru, pure Grande Champagne cognac, released is presented in a multi-faceted decanter very similar to that of the 1920’s version, but with a cutting edge twist of a pewter logo that takes the place of the traditional label. It is encased in a grey and red presentation box that also doubles as a display unit – should you not wish to instantly open it and taste what’s inside.
Hine describes the Antique XO Premier Cru as an ‘invitation to delight the senses,’ and a cognac with a very distinctive flavour.
