And now Canada! There will be just 50 bottles of L’Essence de Courvoisier available in Canada, with quite a nice price: $3,200 the bottle.
The L’Essence de Courvoisier is a blend of over 100 eaux-de-vie, coming from the Grande Champagne and Borderies growing area in the Cognac region. This cognac uses eaux-de-vie that were matured in the 70’s and the 80’s.

And of course the fine spirit comes in a crystal decanter of Baccarat – each bottle is handmade and individually numbered. Clearly the bottle is inspired by a tear drop.
Interesting: Apparently the crystal stopper on the decanter is inspired by Napoleon’s signet rings.
Brand Manager Nina Knežević:
“L’Essence de Courvoisier embodies our commitment to heritage and tradition and supports our desire to evolve. This cognac is the result of years of passionate exploration by our dedicated team, who worked tirelessly on this complex project. Partnering with Baccarat ensured we developed an exquisite decanter that complements the superior quality of the spirit”
Jean-Marc Olivier is the master blender of Courvoisier, the creator of this bottle, comments:
“L’Essence de Courvoisier is a timeless blend of the finest ‘eaux de vie’ from the last two centuries. Hand-selected as the most innovative of their generation, blended together to produce L’Essence de Courvoisier – a definitive cognac for any era.”
Courvoisier’s new product will be introduced to the Canadian market on August 26 through to September 2010.
