The next limited edition in the series of the popular signature art design for the Hennessy VS Cognac has been announced. And this time it’s in collaboration with the American contemporary artist, Shepard Fairey.
You might remember (and may indeed own), some of the earlier in this series, such as the design by KAWS and Futura X. This design by Fairey incorporates both designs from the artist, as well as those with that are significant to the history of the house of Hennessy.
Senior Vice President of Hennessy USA said of the new design, “Shepard Fairey personifies the qualities Hennessy wishes to champion… This new Hennessy Limited Edition bottle design is further evidence of his talent, passion and commitment to his craft, the same characteristics Hennessy has pursued since 1765.”
Fairy says of his elegant design, “My inspiration for this limited edition design was based on the legacy of Hennessy as a brand. To me, Hennessy has always been about quality, authenticity, tradition and elegance.”
And there’s another between Shepard Fairey and Hennessy: Hennessy released the Hennessy 44 Cognac that was produced in 2009 to celebrate the inauguration of the 44th President of the United States, Barack Obama, while Shepard Fairey designed the famous Barack Obama “Hope” poster that came to represent Obama presidential campaign in 2008.
Well, back to the bottle: it is both eye-catching and elegant. One that will certainly stand out in a collection (and we can imagine that this will be a bottle that Don Henny will certainly be adding to his collection…).
As well as this eye-catching bottle, from July 2014 you’ll also be able to purchase the Hennessy VS Limited Edition Deluxe set. Once again designed by Shepherd Fairey, these feature two full sized bottles, as well as a behind the scenes look at the Fairey/Hennessy partnership, and three exclusive and collectable stickers.
The Shepard Fairy VS Cognac Limited Edition bottle will retail at around $32 US dollars. The twin deluxe set will cost around $150. It will be on sale from July 14, 2014.
