Yesterday, July 15th at the Chateau Bagnolet (est. 1810) there was a garden party. Hennessy’s garden party, to be precise.
The president of Hennessy Cognac, Bernard Peillon, announced a 10% increase in buying eaux-de-vie from vinegrowers. The biggest Cognac house will also invest in a new, ambitious program: Construction of new barrel cellars and eaux-de-vie stocking facilities.

That’s a clear signal coming from the ‘maison de negoce’: It shows optimism and healthy and constant developement of the leading Cognac producer.
Why does Hennessy announce new investments? Because they had a good year of 2009 and 2010 started well too. Hennessy will probably purchase 10% more (in volume) from Charente winegrowers, then Peillon added “plus minus 5%”.
