We end the week with an item of the great, well-known Hardy Perfection series, bottle #549 to be exactly of this strictly limited edition. Cognac, Daum decanter, Carzou lithograph and oak case are located in Canada.

The Reader tells us that “Back in late eighties I had a friend that worked in a fine dining restaurant that sold the cognac and was fortunate enough to try it. I cant remember what it sold for, but it was expensive, they would however break the shot into halves or quarters. It was the most amazing, smoothest thing I had, and to this day ever tasted. Knowing how much I enjoyed it, I ended up receiving a bottle (#549) When I opened up the shipping crate(which is also numbered and still have in original condition) thats when I realized the set included the Daum decanter, the carzou lithograph, oak case and all the letters of authenticity, all matched. As much as I wanted to open the bottle I could never bring myself to do so. It has been kept away since then, other than those times I wanted to show it off or just admire it and dream of tasting it once more. I also have photos of complete set.”

(If you also have a Cognac bottle you would like to sell, or you need information about age or value – send us photos and information, just submit: Use this form – but please be aware: if you don’t follow the steps precisely, we will not publish your bottle.)

I am interested in buying it.

    1. What is your price for this bottle?

    2. It’s mentioned in the description that “the set included the Daum decanter, the carzou lithograph, oak case and all the letters of authenticity, all matched”.

Does it also include the following:

    a) Crystal stopper with matching serial number?

    b) 4 Daum crystal goblets?

    c) Crystal tray for goblets?

    Thank you,

Hi Mike, The set does include the number matching stopper, but this set never included the goblets, I am not sure, but I dont believe sets were done with the lithograph and goblets as one.I also have the wooden, numbered shipping crate that matches. What did you have in mind price wise, I am very interested in selling but not wanting to give away, still researching real value as it seems quite varied, although certainly climbing since I first started researching a few years ago.

    Hi Terry,

Sorry, but your price is way too high for me. I’ve bought such sets for less than half of it in the past. Therefore, I’ll pass.

    Thank you,

  9. Avatar

No problem Mike, can appreciate that, but I’m sure your not selling those sets for half of that. Thank You though.

I have to agree with Mike. Without the Carzou lithograph I have paid under $5K for this bottle with case, stopper and papers. The lithograph would add $1,000 to the price but not $5,000.

For your information, the original Perfection was produced in 2 editions. One with the glasses and lithoraph and one only in a wooden box. This bottle is the first one. ( I have both) the second bottle is smaller and the wax is red. This bottle is missing glasses and picture. Valiue is around 5K USD. Not more (just look up auctioins records) Also the second one had no numbers. There was made only a few of them when the first one sold out, and it worth more, as it’s harder to get.

Looking for estimated price range for the product listed above. I am interested in purchasing a complete set… Wooden box , stopper, and un opened bottle. I am not sure what the price range should be given the wide range on the net.
