The Reader writes “Purchased the bottle in 1983 from Dennis Overstreet wines in Beverly Hills, CA. In my possession and unopened since 1983. #44 of 1200 bottles with all of the authenticity documentation and original packaging in daum decanter.”

    Some of these came as a set with a signed and numbered Carzou lithograph. It should have a felt lined oak case and some sets also came with 4 Daum Crystal glasses. Does your set have either of those?

    I should add that you should immediately start storing the bottle upright. The cork will dissolve in a few years and may already be compromised. Cognac should NEVER be stored laying down like wine. The cork cannot withstand the high alcohol content of the cognac.

    I have a bottle of this as well. 4th in a series of 1200 in the Daum Crystal bottle, with certificates of authenticity (in French). Bottled in 1981. Anyone interested?
