There’s no better time to release an exclusive cognac than at Christmas, as producer, Grönstedts know well.

Now in its sixth year, the 2011 Annual Christmas Cognac is a blend of mainly Petite and Grande Champagne eaux-de-vie.  Made from around 70 per cent XO, it also includes the special 2010 blend that was produced for the Swedish royal wedding of Princess Victoria and Daniel Westling.

Created by master blender, Stefan Mårtensson, he describes this festive edition as having tones of almond, chocolate, dried fruit, toffee and orange.  In Sweden, this type of cognac is known as julcognac.
