So another new cognac hits the market, and this time it’s unashamedly aimed at the youth market.
G by Gautier will be available via the travel retail market, and if they were looking for a design that would stand out on the shelves, then they’ve definitely hit the spot. Presented in a sparkly, disco ball inspired pink bottle, G by Gautier is being promoted at the perfect spirit for cocktails. Indeed, alongside the cognac itself, Gautier is providing three new and exclusive cognac recipes in which to use it. These are ‘The G Bomb’, ‘ The G Club’ and ‘Aphrodite’.

So the bottle’s pretty schmancy, but what about the cognac itself? Well, we’ve not yet had a chance to taste it, but Gautier says of its creation that it has “warm vanilla notes, and an explosive, round and spicy mouth that creates a new dimension for bold cocktails”.

The cognac was revealed by the Belvedere Group, and their General Manager, Olivier Bernazeau, said of the launch, “With mixology currently leading the growth of the spirits market, we believe G. by Gautier will break new ground in the category”.
There’s no information about the quality of G by Gautier, but we’re thinking that as it’s intended to be mixed in cocktails, that it’s probably a VS. And even if the style of the name does seem somewhat ‘borrowed’ from another brand (think, C by Courvoisier), we have to say that G by Gautier is sure to appeal to its target market.
The cognac will be available through travel retail outlets in 2015. We don’t yet have a price, but will update just as soon as we do.
