Very nice bottle from the mid 1950s. This is a superior grade Courvoisier, which I would value at $250 if you are interested in selling it.

    Dear Sirs

It is now a few months since I last received “Cognac Expert”. In fact, I was beginning to think you had closed shop. I see, I was mistaken. Grateful if you could put me back on your list.
    Thank you for your attention.
    Kind regards
    Daniel

Thanks you for the offers, they are very generous. but its not quite enough for me to part with.
does anyone have any information on it. i believe its a 1948-51 but that’s about all i have

Definitely not 1948-1951. The “Purveyor” label is marked “The LATE King George VI”. He died in 1952 so the bottle is 1953 or newer.
I own the same bottle with the older label (Just King George VI). You have about reached the top of the value scale for this bottle. $400 was the absolute maximum price I would pay for this bottle and only because it has the box.
With Alex offering $440 I am out.
If you truly want to sell it you will probably not get more than you get here. You have 3 Courvoisier collectors competing for it and low sales costs. If you put it on a Bonhams auction I would bet that you don’t even clear $300 after the sale is done. Of course if you want to keep it that’s another story. Just my 2 cents…
