Courvoisier has just launched a new Cognac! Courvoisier Extravagance – and the bottle is only available in duty free. Courvoisier is pretty active in the Duty Free market right now – think travel retail edition Le Voyage de Napoleon by Courvoisier.
Extravagance by Couvoisier
Courvoisier Extravagance apparently is inspired by the “Paris Golden Age of the late 1800s”. The Cognac references artistic expression and the time when Courvoisier actually became known, when “Napoleon III toasted at the opening of the Eiffel Tower”.
As far as we know this is a Grande Champagne and Petite Champagne blend – but is it a Fine Champagne cognac? It defintely references the very first Napoleon-quality of Fine Champagne cognac. Napoleon as an age rating and not directly related to the person Napeolon. Confused? Well you’re right. Read our article about cognac ages.
The cognac already won an award: Gold at The Cognac Masters 2014. The bottle of Courvoisier Extravagance is at 700ml and retails at €89 – which is a true Napoleon pricing: More expensive than a premium VSOP, but less expensive than a XO Cognac.
