A reader from Malaysia is asking for some information about this Courvoisier Cour Imperiale Cognac.

The Reader writes “This is part of my father’s collection which has now passed to me. I remember this bottle from my childhood days, together with many other cognac bottles so I am guessing it is from the 1960’s or 70’s. It has a unique cracked gold pattern on the glass which I have not in other bottles. I am curious as to the history of its manufacture, when it was bottled and a rough valuation and hope you can help. Thank you”

What about the history of the manufacture? Or information about Cour Imperiale? Maybe people are just interested in buying but does anyone know more information about it?

It is a Napoleon grade cognac, one level above VSOP.
As with many cognacs the packaging is the only difference between this version and other Courvoisier Napoleon cognacs and also the reason this bottle is worth more than a regular Courvoisier Napoleon of the same age.
This type of bottle with the crackled guilding was made in the 1970s-1990s. This bottle is one of the newer types (Long neck)
