Friday, November 9th, sees a wonderful celebration taking place at the University of Segonzac (Université des Eaux-de-Vie et boissons spiritueuses) – and Cognac-Expert has been invited to go along, Max will be there for the dinner.

For 25 years the University has been playing host to the education of students from around the world, most of whom go onto to work in the spirit and wine industry.

The university was relocated from the University of Poitiers in 1987 (and is still affiliated to it), and is now well-known as a centre of excellence for all to do with spirits and wine.  And to celebrate this quarter century milestone, they’ve joined forces with ‘Elixir XO’ for a day of education and partying.

Sponsored by the BNIC and Credit Agricole, the day starts at 14:30.  The theme of the day is ‘Food Pairing,’ and, along with students of the university, industry professionals and leaders will join for a day to provide a day of education and gastronomy.  After all, what can be more enjoyable than learning from the experts exactly how to pair various foods with the perfect cognac, spirit or wine?

Not to mention the numerous tastings that will undoubtedly be taking place…

The program of the day is as follows:

  • 14:30 – Conference, ‘The Communication of Spirits and Gastronomy.’
  • 16:00 – Food Pairing Experience
  • 17:00 – Graduation of students
  • 17:40 – Cocktail graduates
  • 20:00 – Gala Elixir XO

We are looking forward to seeing you there, whoever will be there (well, some of you will be there).
