The Age du Fruit “10 Carats” of Léopold Gourmel is a 13 years old blend of Fins Bois eaux-de-vies. It’s at 40% abv. 750ml
Léopold Gourmel was a wise man, who knew about the important things in life. Léopold founded the small Cognac house, which produces about 100.000 bottles per year. Gourmels is able to handle the whole chain of production: from the vineyard, wine production, distilling, aging. All Cognac are strictly vintage spirits, no blends.
Very brief review:
Delicate bitterness, fresh almond, richer, more mature notes. Thicker, more oily, longer in the cheeks, all the way to the throat. Beautiful finish, preserved fruits, citrus, apricot, orange zest, lemon peel.
Color: Pale Gold
On the nose: Slightly bitter, almonds, grounded notes.
Taste: Fruits, citrus, peach – honey but not too sweet, round highlight – steady, well balanced finish
The grade of this Cognac is a XO.

Congratulations on the comments they are both exacting and enticing. Just one remark , Age du Fruit 10 carats is an XO not a VSOP.In the later cataegory we offer Premières Saveurs /6 carats and our new Bio Attitude, 100% certified bio cognac. Many thanks , and to all LG lovers enjoy ! Olivier
I wonder if what does 10 carats, 15 carats, 20 carats mean ?
