Report about Hennessy’s lack of creativity in the web

Small but interesting post: As Webandluxe.com reports, Hennessy Cognac Ireland lacks some creativity on Facebook.

This is what the writers of webandluxe call an EPIC FAIL.. but let’s explain. We all know that brands are about to be promoted more and more on Facebook, even when it’s difficult to do brand positioning with Web 2.0 – but look what those copy & pasters created. Or is it just a coincidence?

Look at those screengrabs webandluxe did of Martell‘s post and Hennessy’s post…

And now look what a view hours later happened on the Hennessy Cognac Ireland page…

That seems to be a “deja-vu”!

Actually the guys from webandluxe are right to comment on this. Many manufacturers promote their Cognacs by telling us how many eaux-de-vie are blended.. but come on!

1. In a web community like facebook or twitter – basically anything that is web 2.0 – not a lot of people even care about how many eaux-de-vie were blended. It’s about age, that is what seems to be interesting. Or bottle design, a special edition. Or events. Or a cool spokesman.

2. Also, they should perhaps stop with those “Did you know that…” questions. We think it underestimates the audience and secondly is not even a real question.

Oh and by the way, did you know that Cognac is made from grapes?
