Laclie about to expand – a new mini player on the cognac market?

Cognac Expert reported about the redesign of Laclie’s range, see the article here.

Now the Cognac house René Laclie Spirits is about to expand its network: Two new offices will be opened in 2010. The company is currently present in the US, Bogota and Helsinki – a new one opened in May in Shanghai and another one in Toronto.

Interesting. Canada seems to be more and more interesting for the cognac producers. Same, of course, for China. So the next location is Singapore in early 2011. Also, the spirits company signed a deal with Indian distributor Dionysus Beverages.

Someone is ambitious

While expanding its distribution network, Laclie also positioned their cognac bottles Léopold Raffin as premium high-end products. It’s clearly targeted at the international luxury market.

What the new product now needs is some awards, and on September 1oth we received this announcement:

The VSOP of René Laclie Léopold Raffin cognac received a Gold award at the International Beverage Exposition and Competition (IBEC) of Shenzhen, China.

The VSOP was named “Best of Show”, apparently the highest rated beverage of the whole competition. Not bad! This is where you need to start if you launch a new product. Just look at ABK6 for instance.
