June 4th is Cognac Day in the U.S. but why?

Here at Cognac Expert we’re always happy to hear of reasons for people to enjoy a drop of eaux-de-vie.  And in the U.S. June 4th was designated Cognac Day.

National Cognac Day?

The Americans can use this as an excuse to splash out on a couple of new products on the US market.

One of them is Borderies XO – the new offering from Camus Cognac which retails at around $150 US dollars per bottle, more information about the Camus bottle you find here.

If that’s a little steep in price, then how about the new Rose cognac from Courvoisier: Read more about that bottle, here.

Still, we wonder where this “Cognac Day” myth is coming from.. a pure marketing gag – or is there any historical background? If anyone knows more, please comment.
