Galliac looks to Cognac for Inspiration

The ever growing popular tourist trail of the great Cognac houses and vineyards has inspired the region of Galliac, in Tarn, to follow suit.  A delegation from the area – including Pierre Verdier, president of the Tarn association – Tourisme de Terroir – spent the weekend in Charente to see how the ‘Vignobles and Decouvertes’ in Cognac could also be implemented in Galliac.

Galliac, situated in the neighbouring department, between Albi and Toulouse, is known for its wine production.  In 2008 their total production was 160,000 hl.  The delegation from Galliac spent this last weekend touring the Cognac region and in discussions with Remy-Martin.

Mr Verdier stated that the weekend has given them many good ideas and that they are very keen to develop a similar tourist circuit in Galliac.
