Cognac Napoleon Brand Derksen & C. Jarna Imported by Sovereign
This time someone has a Napoleon Brand bottle: One of our readers sent us an imported product… and needs help. Thanks for your comments, as always.
(If you also have a bottle you would like to submit, please use our form)
My father is deceased and I found some spirits which was never opened. The name of the bottle is Cognac Napoleon Brand, 84 proof, 4/5 quart. Shipped by L. Derksen & C. Jarna C. France. Imported by Sovereign Importers LTD., New York.
The bottle has wire mesh securing the cork and is fused under a wax seal with the letter “N’. on the front. The label on the front is a picture of Napoleon with Cognac Napoleon Brand under it.
Above the wax seal. The US IRS seal is intact with the numbers, 36A7989965. I assume the product is still good but does this have any historical value?

Hi, I have got a similair bottle, bit older though, but unfortunately it does not seem to be very populair and thus it’s value is limited, despite the promissing label which does show much similarities with a number of bottles of the 1811 vintage. Derksen is a Austrian wine and liquor trader, still alive today.
