Cognac-Expert reaches 100.000 visitors per Month

Less than two years ago, we, brother and sister, Max and Sophie, started a blog about a world famous product from Charente, France: Cognac.

In the beginning, we were just reporting about the basic things relating to cognac, like cognac estates, the latest cognac cocktail or the different techniques in cognac production. After a couple of months, we realized that there were actually people around the world who were showing great interest in our blog. As a result, we introduced a database to the website, including interesting information about cognac houses and their product ranges.

Our blog section YOUR BOTTLE became more and more popular and we kept receiving exciting messages where users posted the cognac bottles they found to find out more about them. This lead to lively exchanges about price, origin, history and even actual sales. We then introduced a “Cocktail & Drinks” section Cocktail & Drinks with the support of one of the big 4 cognac companies.

Cognac-Expert.com is a family project – and it will continue as such. Our family has been living in the Charente region for over 50 years. Coming from an agricultural background, our grandfather owned a vineyard himself, so our family knows what farming and running a business in the French countryside means. The same goes for cognac producers, small and big.

We started Cognac-Expert because we wanted to share the incredible diversity of cognac houses and producers with a wider and international audience. And also to distribute information about the world of cognac in general. We appreciate the work of the small producers and respect the big houses at the same time. We believe the two should coexist and continue doing what they do best: produce great cognac!

Today, we are proud to announce that our website has reached an astonishing 100.000 visitors per month. Within less than 2 years, our tiny blog has transformed into the leading website about cognac in the world. As you can imagine, we are thrilled about this incredible success.

We post news stories and report for both professionals and those who are new to cognac. About 25% of our readership are professionals, who actually work in the spirits (including cognac) business, while the remaining readers are made up of cognac connoisseurs as well as enthusiasts who want to learn more about cognac. Every month, readers from over 200 countries worldwide read, comment, exchange and discuss cognac on our website. Our facebook page has recently surpassed 15.000 fans, and tweeting becomes more and more a daily passion for us. We are thrilled about everyone’s commitment and feedback.
