It’s Cooking Time: Tarte Provencale and Cucumber Cognac Cocktail

Here comes a weekend recipe, very simple. But wait, we present one cognac cocktail and a tarte. Why? Because we had the cognac drink as an aperitif while preparing the “tarte provencale”.

What you would need for a very simple cognac cocktail, mixologists don’t kill us – but we are not cocktail specialists.

Cucumber Cognac Ale

  • Cognac VS
  • 2 slices of cucumber
  • 2 ice cubes
  • Ginger Ale (we used Canada Dry)

First the ice, then some Cognac VS.

Then cut some slices of cucumber.

Add some ginger ale to your drink.

And finally add the slice.

And the drinks are ready.

As you can see, the cheese is about to be cut now.

The Tarte Provencale

Put the shortcrust pastry into a form, add mustard – spread it. All very simple. Cut the tomatos, fine slices. Then add Cantal cheese.

Then a little bit of olive oil, over the little master piece. Salt & Pepper and thyme. Done. Now into the oven for about 40 minutes at thermostat 6-7.

Here is the recipe in detail:

  • shortcrust pastry
  • mustard
  • 5 tomatoes
  • 200 grams of rather young Cantal cheese
  • a bit of thyme
  • a splash of Olive oil
  • salt & pepper

You can also add some drak olives on top.
