Nestling in the formidable shadow of Martell and the other great cognac houses, a new shop – La Mise en Biere – has opened its doors.
Proprietor – Yann Le Floch – opened the doors of his new enterprise on January 03, and stocks an enormous range of beers from all over the world. An upholsterer and decorator by trade, he served in the military before moving into the commercial world of Burgundy wines.
But his real passion is beer and his shop stocks beers of every strength, flavour and fermentation. You can purchase from a single bottle right up to large crate quantities.
Le Floch admits that one of the major reasons for moving to Cognac was the lack of competition. Indeed, there is nowhere else in the area where you can purchase the fare he has on offer.
And as lovers of eaux-de-vie are well aware, a nice fresh beer alongside a tipple of cognac is pretty much manna from heaven.
